About
CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) with 20+ years as an ASL/English interpreter. Air Force veteran. I hold an M.Ed. in Interpreter Pedagogy and M.S. in Psychology, with certifications including NIC Advanced, EIPA 4.3, and ASLPI 4+. My work spans VRS, medical, legal, educational, and performing arts settings. I'm also the founder of InterpretReflect, an AI-powered platform for interpreter professional development, and a nationally recognized presenter on emotional intelligence in interpreting.
I specialize in performing arts (Hamilton, Book of Mormon, Beetlejuice, Bonnaroo Music Festival), conference interpreting, medical, legal, and educational settings. I'm drawn to high-stakes environments where emotional intelligence and cultural competence matter most. My background in psychology informs how I approach trauma-sensitive medical assignments, and my CODA identity gives me deep cultural fluency. I also coordinate interpreter teams for large-scale events and conferences.
I'm a published author ("borders within" โ a poetry collection on the CODA experience), EQ-i 2.0 certified practitioner, and developer of the ECCI Model for interpreter professional excellence. I bring a research-grounded, emotionally intelligent approach to every assignment.
